A large-scale forum of young researchers was held on the basis of KrasSMU - the All-Russian Festival "Springboard to Science - 2026". In the section "Infectious Diseases", clinical resident of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Alina Isaenko, together with 6th year students of the Faculty of Medicine Stepan Pinyugin and Anton Ivanov, under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Alvina Emelyanova and Associate Professor of the Department of Normal Physiology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Artur Emelyanov, presented the work: "Clinical and epidemiological characteristics of pneumonia caused by resistant strains Klebsiella pneumoniae».
In the end, ours got silver! A diploma confirming the success of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy team came on June 8.
In the course of the study, the authors managed to obtain significant scientific data. Thus, the share of pneumonia caused by resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae was 42% in the structure of antibiotic-resistant pneumonia. Polymicrobial associations were particularly important: combinations with Staphylococcus aureus, Candida spp., and Streptococcus pneumoniae were found in 76% of cases. In addition, carbapenemase-producing strains were found in all examined patients, among which NDM and OXA-48 types predominated. At the same time, antibiotics amikacin and polymyxin B have demonstrated high activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae — these results may be valuable for practical medicine.
The event was remembered for various bright moments, each stage was unique and allowed not only to show their knowledge and approaches to the solution, but also to feel part of a large scientific community, - said student Stepan Pinyugin.
Congratulations on your well-deserved success at the All-Russian level. New heights to you, inspiration for new research!
