At the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, the Chita State Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation hosted an annual Olympiad in the discipline "Prevention and Communal Dentistry" for 3rd year students of the Faculty of Dentistry. 30 students took part in the competition.
The Olympiad included several stages:
testing on key topics of preventive dentistry;
solving clinical cases;
practical tasks for assessing the hygienic condition of the oral cavity;
The creative stage is the creation and defense of a project for the prevention of dental diseases.
At the creative stage, the participants developed educational materials: booklets, lesson scenarios on oral hygiene and game learning formats. The projects were presented and defended in front of the jury, which included experienced teachers of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
The works were evaluated according to the criteria of scientific validity, relevance, originality, practical applicability and quality of presentation.
The event made it possible not only to identify the strongest students, but also to develop their professional thinking, public speaking skills and the application of theoretical knowledge in practice.
