"Soul-man", "our lighter", "he is always positive" - this is how people who know him say about this third-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics. Charm and cheerfulness played a role in the fact that Khuren-Dash Kandan won the title of "Doctor of Style" of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy following the results of the March creative competition. The life-loving man is also known as the host of events, a talented member of the ensemble "Urgy". He is interested in everything, and in many ways it comes from his roots: his nationality is "Tuvan".
Fascinating throat singing, national rituals, a deep connection with nature and nomadic way of life: the Tuvan people, one of the oldest Turkic peoples of Central Asia, carefully preserve unique traditions. The heart of Tuva is the city of Kyzyl, where Kandan Khuren-Dash comes from.
"It is there that the breath of ancestors is especially keenly felt: harmony with the surrounding world, reverence for the hearth and boundless respect for the elders, and for me these are not just beautiful words," says the future pediatrician.
From an early age, Khuren-Dash absorbed Tuvan traditions, like precious wisdom passed down from generation to generation. Nomadic culture taught him patience and hard work, care for five types of cattle - responsibility, reverence for fire and the elements - respect for the forces of nature. Grandfathers, grandmothers, parents instilled in him simple but eternal truths: do not interrupt the speaker, come to the rescue without unnecessary words, do not be afraid of trials and keep sincerity in his heart. These principles are the basis of his character.
The decision to devote himself to medicine was a natural expression of respect for family and national foundations for Khuren-Dash.
- For a Tuvan, helping one's neighbor is not a duty, but a norm of life. I believe that a doctor should have not only knowledge, but also the same spiritual generosity that is inherent in my people. For me, medicine is the ability to listen to the patient, be patient with him and take responsibility for his life. And in pediatrics, this is doubly important - after all, children require special warmth and understanding, - says Khuren-Dash. Like his nomadic ancestors, Khuren-Dash appreciates freedom, but at the same time he acutely feels the value of community.
He is an active representative of the Tuvan community of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy: he helps his fellow countrymen adapt to the academy, supports them and together with them carefully preserves his native traditions.
"It is important for me not to lose respect for the customs of my ancestors: to be able to listen to my elders, to appreciate what nature gives, and at the same time to receive modern medical education in order to return the most important thing to people - health," says Khuren-Dash.
